Least Tern (Sternula antillarum), Lake Havasu- Rotary Park, Mohave County

This Least Tern was discovered and photographed by Joseph Hildreth on 11 June 2009 at the beach at Rotary Park in Lake Havasu City.

A very rare transient in the Lower Colorado River Valley.  However, this has been a very good year for this species in Arizona with many reports from various locations.

Yellow bill and white forehead are diagnostic in breeding plumage.
