Townsend_s Solitaire (Latin Name), Upper Madera Canyon just below Carrie Nation Mine, Santa Cruz County

This Townsend's Solitaire was discovered and photographed by Philip Kline on 28 May 2009.

Although this species is expected in the mountains of SE Arizona during winter, it is considered casual by late May.  It could be a very late migrant, but the elevation of the location is 6500' and there is always a possibility it could be breeding.  However, there are no previous breeding records for SE Arizona.
