Rufous-backed Robin (Turdus rufopalliatus), Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Pinal County

This Rufous-backed Robin was discovered an photographed by Richard Ditch on 21 October 2009 at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum in a Chinese Pistachio tree near the picnic area.  Over the years this has been a productive spot for this species.

Rare but regular winter visitor to Arizona. Usually seen October through April.

Rufous back and coverts, lack of white markings around eye, long throat stripes.
