Swamp Sparrow (Melospiza georgiana), Willow Bend Wetlands, Coconino County

This Swamp Sparrow was was first noted by Jason Wilder on 11 December 2009. It has been re-found on a number of occasions, and by a number of observers, since. This is possibly the first record of this species overwintering in Coconino County. It was photographed by Brooks Hart on 15 February 2010

Swamp sparrow is rare in Coconino County. 

Note gray face and rufous wings.
