Rufous-backed Robin (Turdus rufopalliatus), Patagonia Lake State Park, Santa Cruz County

This Rufous-backed Robin was first reported by Stuart Healy based on information from Bill Adler on 31 December 2010.   It was photographed by Laurens Halsey on 02 January 2011.

Rare but seemingly regular winter visitor to southeast Arizona with several usually reported every year.

Rusty back and upper wing coverts, dark streaking on mostly white throat, orange bill, and lack of white arcs around eye separate this species from American Robin.
