Canada Warbler (Wilsonia canadensis), Willow Tank, Cochise County

This Canada Warbler was discovered by Bob Rodrigues on 4 June 2011 and photographed by John Yerger and Tony Godfrey on 05 June 2011.

One of the rarest "eastern" warblers in Arizona.  There are nine previous accepted records, but only two of those from spring.

With a good view, a male Canada Warbler is essentially unmistakable. Grayish blue upperparts, yellow underparts from throat to lower belly, white undertail coverts. Bold white eyering, yellow supraloral, and (most distinctively) short black streaks form a "necklace" pattern across the upper breast.
