Cape May Warbler (Dendroica tigrina), Peņa Blanca Lake, Santa Cruz County

This Cape May Warbler was discovered by Susan Birky, Judy Edison, Barb Koenig, Shery Kistler and Joyce Lebowitz on 22 September 2011.  These photographs were take by Laurens Halsey and Alan Schmierer on 24 September 2011.

There are 11 previous records of this species, the last in 1998. 

This is adult basic plumaged (fall) male Cape May Warbler. Note the rusty tone to auriculars, extensive black streaking on yellow yellow parts, yellow rump, white median coverts.
