Yellow-shafted Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus auratus), Tolleson Wastewater Treatment Plant, Maricopa County

This Yellow-shafted Northern Flicker was discovered by Tommy DeBardeleben and photographed by Melanie Herring on 30 October 2011.

On 29th of October, a pair of them were found by Kurt and Cindy Radamaker.

Rare in Arizona.

The combination of brown face, black malar "mustache", and red crescent on nape, and yellow underwing pattern show a "Yellow-shafted" Northern Flicker.
