Golden-Crowned Sparrow (Zonotrichia atricapilla), N. Remmington Dr., Sun City Grand, Surprise, AZ, Maricopa County

This Golden-Crowned Sparrow was discovered and photographed by Dominic Sherony on 17 March 2012

Golden-crowned Sparrow is a rare transient and winter visitor which however occurs annually. It is most often found in large flocks of White-crowned Sparrows.

Plain gray face, yellow forecrown and gray bill.
