Bay-breasted Warbler (Setophaga castanea), Coon Bluff, Mesa, Maricopa County

This Bay-breasted Warbler was discovered and photographed by Lindsay Story on 06 June 2012.

One of the rarer of the eastern warblers in Arizona, there are only 16 previous state records.  However, like some other boreal breeding vagrants, Bay-breasted Warbler has been extremely rare recently with only two records since 1996.

Adult male in breeding plumage is one of the most unique and unmistakable warblers.
