Blackpoll Warbler (Setophaga striata), San Pedro River, 2 miles south Hereford Bridge, Cochise County

This Blackpoll Warbler was discovered and photographed by Mike Wittmer on 20 April 2013.

Blackpoll Warbler is a casual spring and rare fall vagrant to Arizona with about 25 records in all; most records are in the fall.

Adult male in breeding plumage has a black cap, white cheek, black malar; throat, chest and underparts are crisp white with streaking on the sides. Legs are pale. Two white wingbars.
