Brown Thrasher (Toxostoma rufum), Lower Ash Canyon, Huachuca Mts., Cochise County

This Brown Thrasher was found by Karen LeMay 28 April and photographed by Robert Behrstock on 30 April 2014

Brown Thrasher is a casual fall, winter and spring visitor. Usually fewer than 1 or 2 are found every year, but they are possibly increasing.  

Foxy red plumage above and bold black streaking below on off white background distinguish Brown Thrashers from other thrashers in Arizona.
