Least Tern (Sternula antillarum), Willcox, Twin Lakes, Cochise County

This Least Tern was found by Andrew Core on 18 April 2014 and photographed by Jack Holloway on 06 May 2014

Once a casual visitor to Arizona, this species has increased steadily over the last few years and the first nesting record for the state occurred recently in Glendale. It is nearly annual in the Phoenix area and at Willcox during mid May.

Adult unmistakable with white forehead and yellow bill, tiny size
