White-eared Hummingbird (Hylocharis leucotis), Marshall Gulch, Mount Lemmon, Pima County

This White-eared Hummingbird was found by Rob Rackliffe, Virginia Fairchild, and Frieda Worral and photographed by Rob Rackliffe on 26 June 2014

White-eared Hummingbird is a rare summer resident in the mountains of southeastern Arizona. Mount Lemmon is farther north than the species typically occurs.

The extremely prominent, bright white eyebrow of both sexes of the White-eared Hummingbird is unmistakable.
