Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula), Bill Williams River NWR, La Paz CountyThis Baltimore Oriole was
found by Michael Lester and Theresa Hyde and photographed by Theresa Hyde on 13 July 2014 Rare migrant with around 20 accepted records and
several pending. May be increasing in recent years. Probably a first year male, with nearly solid black
hood and black back. Although a little hard to judge at
this stage of molt, the extensive black of the hood and
fairly bright orange color suggest a pure Baltimore
Oriole rather than a hybrid. 13 July 2014, photo by Theresa Hyde All photos are copyrighted© by photographer |
