Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula), Sweetwater Wetlands, Pima County

This Baltimore Oriole was found and photographed by Jay and Judy Wilbur on 02 November 2014 and photographed by Brian Walsh on 04 November.

Rare migrant with around 20 accepted records and several pending. May be increasing in recent years.

Adult males are easily separated from Bullock's Oriole by solid black head. The orange corners on the tail are also distinctive, whereas Bullock's Oriole has a black-tipped tails. Hybrids usually have an orange supercillium and more white in the wing coverts.
