Parasitic Jaeger (Stercorarius parasiticus), Becker Lake, Apache County

This Parasitic Jaeger was found and photographed by Sarah Fish on 22 September 2014

There are 11 accepted records for Arizona and several pending. If accepted by the ABC, this would be a first record for Apache County.

Identification of juvenile jaegers is complex, but the overall cinnamon coloration, orange-tinged tips to the coverts, and long slender bill with the dark nail about 1/3 the total bill length are all good for Parasitic Jaeger.
