Worm-eating Warbler (Helmitheros vermivorum), Portal, Cochise County

This Worm-eating Warbler was found and photographed by Lori Conrad on 29 September 2015

Unfortunately this individual struck a window but soon recovered and was able to fly away.

A casual transient and winter visitor with a few summer records as well.

It is one of the most distinctive warblers and, seen well, it is unmistakable. Note the large bill, striped head, and buffy overall color.
