Rufous-capped Warbler (Basileuterus rufifrons), Ventana Canyon, Santa Catalina Mtns, Pima County

This Rufous-capped Warbler was found by Paul Suchanek and Brian Nicholas and photographed by Paul Suchanek on 21 November 2015

Over twenty records, many involving multiple individuals, long staying birds, and breeding. This is a new location for the species.

Unmistakeable, yellow throat and breast with rufous crown stripes and auriculars, and bold white supercilium. Song is a series of rapid, shrill and sweet notes.
