Least Grebe (Tachybaptus dominicus), Arthur Pack Park, Pima County

This Least Grebe was found and photographed by John Williams on 21 November and also photographed by Andrew Core on 22 November and by Walt Anderson on 23 November 2017

A casual straggler to the state, often in ponds near the Mexican border; 23 accepted records and four pending.

Least Grebe is a small, short-necked grebe with yellow eyes, a thin dark bill, and a gray face, neck, and back. Note its diminutive size compared to Pied-billed Grebes.
