Hooded Warbler (Setophaga citrina), de Anza Trail at Tumacacori, Santa Cruz County

This Hooded Warbler was found and photographed by Bill Lisowsky on 18 July 2018

This bird was singing as if on territory, for up to a week or more. May have been present in same location last year as well.

Hooded Warbler is a rare transient and summer visitor with most records in the spring. Records have increased in recent years.

Adult male is unmistakable. Bright yellow with black hood and bib.
