Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea), Christopher Columbus Park, Pima County

This Arctic Tern, presumably the same individual at Canoa Ranch on May 18-19, was refound by Sarah Ramsey and photographed by Gary Rosenberg on 19 May 2020

If accepted by the ABC this would represent the seventh state record and the first to be photographed (there are two specimens). Previous records are evenly split between late spring and September.

Small tern similar to a Common Tern but note the small head, short bill and legs, very translucent primaries with a narrow black trailing edge to the primaries, underparts dusky gray, and the black cap almost reaches the gape.
