Bobolink (Dolichonyx oryzivorus), Rio de Flag, Flagstaff, Coconino County

This Bobolink was found and photographed by Jason Wilder on 17 May 2021.

This adult male stayed until at least 26 May, often singing from display perches.

Bobolink is a casual fall migrant to Arizona, with most individuals found being juveniles. Once a rare but regular fall migrant and occasional breeder in eastern Arizona, Bobolink in recent years has become very rare and was reinstated to the review list in 2005.

Breeding plumage male is a unique combination of black underparts with white on the upperparts.
