Lucifer Hummingbird (Sheartail) (Calothorax lucifer ), Bog Springs Campground, Pima / Santa Cruz County

Lucifer Hummingbird is a rare and local summer resident in the Chiricahua and Huachuca mountains and found only sporadically north to the Santa Ritas. It is considered an Arizona Bird Committee sketch details species.

On a weekend camping trip to Bog Springs Cindy and Kurt placed a hummingbird feeder at their campsite, the next morning Cindy awoke to find this cooperative Lucifer buzzing around the feeder.
